The Swan was designed together with the Egg in 1958 for the lobby and lounge areas at the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. Arne Jacobsen distinguished the Swan Chair by his omission of any straight lines in its design-only curves. A moulded shell of synthetic material on an aluminium star swivel base. A layer of cold foam covers the shell, in fabric or leather and a wide range of colours is added for a display / dé cor flexibility.
The Swan Chair was a technologically innovative chair, provides further evidence of the movement in design to adapt more organic forms into our living spaces. An elegant and its organic shape of Swan chair is ideal for lounge and waiting areas as well as the home.
