Meters feature a large and easy-to-read LCD display with backlighting for use in dark and low-light conditions. Up to 11 parameters can be measured and displayed at the same time. Battery power, GPS info, and USB/ probe connectivity are also indicated via the display. Contrast is variable allowing the user to adjust for extreme ambient light conditions.

Meter is designed for one hand operation. Probes are attached via a quick-connect connector allowing for quick setup. Patented auto-calibration feature provides hassle free meter setup. The turbidity sensor on the U-52 and U-53 models offers better accuracy than most other conventional water quality meters. Polarographic DO sensor features improved stability, fast response, and easy maintenance.

Auto-hold function freezes average data values providing more time to verify or transcribe data. Up to 10, 000 data sets can be stored and later transferred to a PC via a built-in USB connection. Units of measure are user selectable which helps the user save time.

Model U-51 can measure pH, ORP, conductivity, TDS, salinity, dissolved oxygen, seawater specific gravity, and temperature.

Model U-52 adds turbidity measurement.

Model U-53 adds water depth and features a more robust turbidity sensor.

Model U-52G and U-53G feature built in GPS.
