    Applications
    Designed for the continuous monitoring of O2, CO, CO2, and/ or H2 gases from blast furnaces or other continuous industrial processes where an uninterrupted stream of gas concentration data is critical. Calculated values of BTU, N2 and efficiency are also available.

    Description
    The Nova 8000 series has been designed for the continuous monitoring
    of pre-cleaned gases from a blast furnace or other high intensity, continuous industrial processes. The analyzer measures up to four gases
    simultaneously - O2, CO, CO2, and H2, the ranges of which are shown
    below. From these readings, other operating parameters such as nitrogen
    content, BTU and efficiency can be calculated and displayed.
    The analyzer consists of three main components: a heated filter cabinet
    which is directly mounted on the side of the blast furnace gas main, a
    sample conditioning system which is integral to the main analyzer
    cabinet, and the gas analysis sensors which are mounted in a separate
    but integral rack mount drawer, which eases service and maintenance.

    Models
    • 8002 - CO and CO2
    • 8003 - H2, CO, and CO2 with H2 compensation
    • 8004 - H2, O2, CO, and CO2 with H2 compensation
    • 8006 - 8004 gases + N2, BTU and efficiency calculation
    • Other gases can be included as part of this platform, including CH4, SO2, NO, and NO2 in % or PPM ranges.

    Options
    • Cabinet purge system for use in dusty or hazardous locations
    • Cold weather package for operation to -5° F ( -20° C)
    • Cabinet coolers can be fitted to most models

    Sample Conditioning
    • High capacity sample pump ( where sample motivation is required) and high flow by-pass improves overall
    system response time
    • Compression-style moisture removal eliminates use of failure-prone pelletier elements
    • Redundant heated filters allow user to remotely switch from a blocked filter to an unblocked filter, minimizing
    down time due to filter blockage.
    • Automatic blow back of heated filter and probe, can be sequenced with autocalibration, or based on sample
    vacuum limit
    • Digital control maintains constant sample flow even as filters start to plug, reducing operator required

    Gas Analyzer
    • High accuracy gas detectors with full hydrogen compensation
    • Detection of CO & CO2 by reliable field cleanable non-dispersive infra red detector
    • Detection of O2 by long-life electrochemical sensor
    • Detection of H2 by thermal conductivity cell
    • Sensors mounted in temperature controlled 19" ( 48cm) rack mount drawer to reduce drift
    • Rack mounted sensor drawer, which is integral to the main cabinet, permits quick swap with replacement rack

    Smart User Interface
    • Large graphical touch screen display
    • Auto calibration with user defined calibration frequency and purge duration
    • One-step ' CAL NOW' button allows full calibration without opening cabinet
    • Ethernet and 4-20mA outputs suitable for data collection by SCADA systems
    • Diagnostic alarms quickly notify operator of special faults
    • Diagnostic screen aids operator testing of gas analyzer
    • Troubleshooting guide aids operator in testing sample conditioning system and identifying parts to be changed
    • Maintenance alerts notify operators that filters should be checked or changed. Change frequency can be set by user
    • Password-protected user-adjustable parameters allow the operator to ' tweak' the operation of the analyzer without having to change the code
