The MOBOTIX LPF cameras have special optics that work with infrared
light to provide optimal imaging conditions for automatic licence plate
recognition. Reflecting surfaces stand out clearly from the rest of the
background; contrast is very clear, thus producing clear outlines and
making accurate definition of the letters and numbers possible.
The cameras can be used around the clock and, when combined
with an infrared emitter, deliver excellent results under all lighting
conditions.
In addition to the sensor with the special optics, MOBOTIX LPF
cameras are equipped with a B/ W sensor ( megapixel resolution
of 1280x960 pixels) , so that in addition to the image provided for
analysis, an overview image of the scene exists that can be used
for evidence ( e.g. driver identification) .
