We at Multi kilfire believe strongly in the adage â PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CUREâ . Active Fire Systems which include hydrants, sprinklers & smoke detectors, come into play only after the fire breaks out; whereas Fire Retardant Systems help in preventing and retarding fires. While Fire Retardant Systems cannot be considered to be an alternative to Active systems, they definitely rationalize the need for extensive deployment of Active Systems. A marriage between both types of systems is not only physically safer but also more cost effective. With 20 years of experience we wish to introduce ourselves as pioneers in the field of Fire Retardant/ Plant Protection systems in India and have a healthy list of clients in several parts of the country; wherein we have covered industry types like Cement, Power, Iron & Steel, Fertilizers, Petrochemicals, textiles etc. In the field of Fire Retardant systems, inter alia our expertise is in the following products: FIRE RETARDANT COATING FOR ELECTRICAL CABLES To protect the cables which easily get ignited either from arcing, weld-sparks, short-circuit, over-load etc., our Fire Retardant coating is designed to retard / prevent the propagation of fire along the cable runs and reduce the hazards of toxic fumes. It provides the time required to fight the fire and in the meanwhile assuring short term integrity, which enables the other active systems to perform with ease. Thus the fire is checked in the occurrence stage itself. It is added that our Fire Retardant coating is installed / applied on electrical cables already laid in your Plant. This product apart from being water based more importantly are Halogen and Asbestosâ free, both features indicative of being environment-friendly products. . FIRE STOP BARRIERS Our Cable Fire Stop Barrier Systems are installed under Control Panel Openings, Wall / Floor Openings ( made for passage of electrical cables) and is essential in areas where several cables converge in bunches, through conduits, pipes etc. The barrier effectively compartmentalizes the locations and will reduce / prevent the risk of fire spread. It will not allow the propagation of fire for over 3 hours and will also ensure a smoke and gas-tight joint. Indian Standard has recommended certain code of safety vide IS: 12459, which requires cables to be compartmentalized by sealing the wall openings / Floor Openings / opening under control panels / creating compartments in long galleries by using suitable fire stop barriers. It is added that the Fire Barriers are installed on electrical cables already laid in the Plant. Our products are tested and certified at various Government Approved Laboratories to Indian and International Standards. The products meet the exacting standards of BS 476 part 8 & 20, UL-1479, ASTM: E119 & 814, IS 3699, IS12458, IEEE-634, IEEE- 383, IEC-331, IEC-332, IS 101 PART 53, IS-101, IEC-754, IS-10810 PART 50, ASTM: D: 2863 & ASTM: 257. | ||
